Chief & Council
I have lived on the Flying Dust First Nation all my life. My parents are Joe and Eva Gladue and with my partner Sherman, we have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
I have worked with Flying Dust for the past 25 years. I have worked in the areas of Education, Social Assistance and in administration.
I am proud to be sitting for my 6th term as Councilor. My heart has always been in and for the community of Flying Dust and it is a blessing to be able to work for the people.
Councillor Connie Derocher
I am honoured and thankful to be serving my first term on council for Flying Dust First Nation. I have lived here most of my life and I am proud to call this community home. It’s been a great place to raise my sons, Josh and Kalen, and my niece, Seaquin.
I graduated from Beauval Indian Education Center and went on to attend classes at the U of S. I have been a front line worker with our members for the past 16 years in the Justice, Recreation, Kopahawakenum School and Post-Secondary programs. I have also sat on several boards and committees over the years. My passion has always been working with our young people to help them improve their livelihood and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue doing this work. I currently hold the Education and Youth & Recreation portfolios and I’m excited to work with staff and community members to develop those areas.
I look forward to the future and being a part of a team that has the knowledge, experience, creativity and heart to build up our people and strengthen our community.
“In every community there is work to be done. In every nation there are wounds to heal. In every heart there is the power to do it.”
